In 2000, Country Pride Cooperative and Barron Electric Cooperative formed Country Comfort, a limited liability company (LLC), to provide more energy options, products, and services for members in their service areas.

In 2001, Country Comfort welcomed two new partners - Goldstar Cooperative and Shell Lake Cooperative.

In 2004, Tri-County Electric Cooperative, located in Rushford, Minnesota, became the fifth partner of Country Comfort.

In January 2007, Country Comfort Board of Directors voted to approve an Operating Agreement change that will allow new members to be part of the LLC on an unequal ownership basis.  In addition, board size will be structured to have two directors from each member, not dependant on ownership percentage.

In December 2007, Goldstar Cooperative merge with Countryside Cooperative of Durand, Wisconsin.  Countryside will retain the same ownership percentage in Country Comfort and continue with the same board of director representation.

Country Comfort has over 426,000 gallons of storage to serve its customers in Northwest Wisconsin and Southeast Minnesota. Propane delivery service is provided to over 16 counties.
