Real Time Prepay
Market Update
For the week of Monday
March 8, 2010.
Propane Market Information:
-
Thank you for inquiring about our
Real Time Prepay Contract (RTP).
-
Country Comfort's goal is
to provide propane consumers the flexibility to purchase your
propane needs when you see the opportunity to be best.
-
Each week we will
provide you with a few bullet points relating to the current
energy market. We post new energy comments by 10:00A.M
each Monday morning.
-
The comments are solely the synopsis
of market opinions shared by propane commodity wholesalers.
Market Information:
-
Weather Factors:
Warm temperatures may close the book on this winter heating
demand. The focus will move to replenishing the inventories for
next year. This will be the major challenge as refineries
struggle to ramp up production of refined products (gasoline,
diesel and propane).
-
Energy Commodity Factors:
Crude oil is up again this Monday morning to near
$83/ barrel. Propane continues to leg the increases. This puts
propane in a very weak price relationship to crude of around
60%. This may be a very good buying opportunity before propane
does“catch up” to crude.
-
International News Factors:
Sounds like the market has found some resolve in
new on the Greece currency. Exports to foreign country is
largely what hurt the propane inventories, we will need these
exports to slow this summer if we were to have much hope for
propane to come down.
-
Bottom Line:
Very weak propane to crude price relationship, market knows the
long term position of all involved. This is a buy time for a
minimum of 30% of your propane for 2010 and 2011!! We will
leave prices unchanged for the week, although based on the
opening trade could be 2 to 3 cents higher
-
Reminder:
You may buy 3 contracts with a 300 gallon minimum. Cost average
and good for your budget!
-
Our goal with RTP is to provide you options in this very difficult
time of energy cost!
